Your next buyer is an agent. It won't watch your demo.

Issue No 043  ·  Week of Jul 8, 2026  ·  5-min read

The recommendation moved from a Google search to an AI chat. If an assistant can't cleanly parse your Marketplace listing, you're out of the consideration set before a human ever sees your slides — no matter how sharp the demo is.

◆  The Index — live AWS Marketplace corpus
23/100
median Agent-Ready score — the machine-buyer lens. Humans see 76.
0%
of scored AWS listings clear agent-ready (≥70). For a human buyer: 65%.
297/301
listings scored so far that are “Agent-Invisible” to an AI buyer.

The first weekly read of the gap. We'll track whether it narrows — issue by issue.

◆  The Signal

This week we scored 701 live AWS Marketplace listings on how an AI buyer actually reads them. Of the 301 scored so far, 297 are effectively invisible to an assistant — and essentially none clear the agent-ready bar that human listings clear 65% of the time. Same catalog, two completely different buyers.

◆  The Read

The buying committee added a silent member. It doesn't sit through a call — it reads structured text and answers one question: “who solves this, and can I trust them?” Right now the median AWS Marketplace listing scores a flat zero on that trust question when an agent reads it. Your listing is the interface to that reader. If it only makes sense to someone who already knows you, it makes no sense to the agent deciding whether to name you at all.

The one read
Write for the reader who has no context and infinite other tabs. That reader is now an algorithm — and it's the one making the shortlist.
◆  The Move

Run the 10-minute agent-readiness pass on your top listing: paste it into an assistant and ask it to recommend a vendor for your category. If it can't name you — or names you wrong — that's your whole GTM problem in one prompt.

P.S. Next week: the three sentences every Marketplace listing needs so an agent can quote you accurately.

How the Index is measured

These figures are our own — live scoring of AWS Marketplace listings on a machine-buyer vs a human lens (rubric v1; 301 of 701 scored so far, 43% coverage, disclosed as it grows). I went looking for an outside benchmark on listing agent-readiness and came up empty — as best I can tell, no one else is measuring this yet.

Seen numbers that corroborate — or contradict — this? Hit reply; I'll cross-reference and credit you next issue.
